"Now go pack up your sex factory and I'll bake us some cookies"

That little pearl of wisdom came from Desperate Housewives.

I met with my buddy's boss, a potential employer, today. She seems really nice and I hope that all works out. I applied for another 4 jobs online today; two receptionist jobs at medical clinics, one reception job at podiatrists' clinic (8 podiatrists and 1 podiatric surgeon) and one job as ward clerk at the Epworth Hospital. All of these jobs would be great in terms of gaining knowledge at work that would support my studies. Again, wish me luck!

Job hunting is starting to become a little demoralising. The competition in the casual and part-time employment market is fierce. Most people get their student jobs through friends, family or being in the right place at the right time. If you don't have the sort of work experience an employer is looking for, many places wont even take your resume. I'm frustrated because the experience I have would make me a good candidate for some great jobs, but I no longer have enough availability during business hours. I have applied for over twenty jobs, been called for 3 interviews and had 2 jobs offers. Both the offers had fixed start dates during the time I was away with Mum.

Surely a breakthrough has to be right around the corner now.

I also had a delicious breakfast of a toasted bagel with vegemite and a great friend at a delightful place called Bagelicious on Glenhuntly Road in Elsternwick. Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick is a great spot. There so many delectable Jewish bakeries who make the best bagels, cakes, sweets and desserts you'll find (except for yours, of course, Kate). The numerous jewelry shops do not display anything that you'd describe as "understated". The cafes are full of Jewish women having loud and lovely conversations. It's lively part of the world and the sights, smells and tastes are so different to what I'm usually around.

Uni is getting closer and closer. I've been distracting myself with looking at the different colour options for stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers and fob watches. My favourite colour is red but the only red option is burgundy. As burgundy is a feeble and unacceptable red alternative, I'm seriously considering light blue. Aimlessly fussing over colours is one way to distract myself from the fact that I'm pretty afraid that I'll be terrible at paramedics. Whilst that is part of the attraction, theoretically liking the idea of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone doesn't seem like such a noble idea when the actual real life anxiety sets in.

Right about now I'm starting to think something along the lines of,

"WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING?"
